Courting Birds Option:Framed Medium The Chinese did not use
Description
The Chinese did not use coffee tables in the sense that we know them but in colder parts of the country they would use low level tables placed on top of the heated 'kang' living area to serve refreshments or as a work surface
with the shelf and drawer fronts picked out in a contrasting powder blue
created as near life size likenesses of the deceased
The leather is dyed using natural vegetable extract and tree bark and they are fastened by a wrap round leather tie
It is in a classic Chinese 'An' design
Courting Birds Option:Framed Medium The Chinese did not useThis lovely print shows a pair of courting birds perched in the branches of a fruit tree. It is a print of an original Chinoiserie style painting on silk with soft, soothing colours that would enhance any interior. Available in three sizes, either unframed or mounted in a wooden frame with a black satin finish. The prints are from a collection by Diane Hill, a wonderfully talented London artist specialising in Chinoiserie style watercolours on silk.
